The Doctor Sketch

The Doctor Sketch

The Doctor Sketch

Its the Doctor! i have been watching a lot of the recent series, and even tho i don’t care for some of the British style of dramatic scenes, the writing for a lot of it is off the scale. Getting caught up on Torchwood, a Doctor Who spin off right now. its like The regular doctor, but with sex. Its a bit odd, but the Easter eggs and guest stars are great.

And Capt. Jack is a fairly interesting character. it is also funny how they try and write Americans… you just have to see it for your self.

But about the sketch. nothing is final, but i do quite like the goofy nature of  what i have so far. i may try for a more dramatic approach, or i may just keep it light. With the Doctor, you never know. Let me know what you think!

Gorilla Grodd

Gorilla Grodd

Gorilla Grodd

Because you didn’t ask for it, or didn’t demand it, the real deal Gorilla Grodd Commission! Got in in me to do this one up. this one has a guest appearance of none other than the Flash. Not sure if the whole Flash Rogue thing will keep going, but super intelligent apes and there need to rule the world seem to have somewhat of an appeal to me i suppose.

Anyway this one was larger than most, wanted to really get into facial details. any who. questions, comments and what not. all things needed to know. let me know what you think, and get a handy dandy commission of your very own.

Gorilla Grodd Sketch

In the vain of the Flash and his rogue gallery, i was playing around with a Gorilla Grodd Sketch, a super ape from a hidden city of super apes.

This was fun doing some research on the what gorillas look like, and then trying to incorporate a bit of human in to them. the biggest thing i noticed is that most of the images have him with long hair, so i lengthen the hair and kind of made him balding. and like all balding people, it makes you very angry all the time.

Not sure if i will take it further, but i was pleased so i decided to share… Enjoy.

Prof. ZOOOM! the Reverse Flash

the Reverse Flash, Prof. Zoom

the Reverse Flash, Prof. Zoom

Hey kids, I am back with another installment of “Adam listens and knows way too much about comics, and what he doesn’t know, he makes up, but you should like it anyway SHOW”. On this episode, we have The original Reverse flash, professor zoom. He is from the Silver age of DC comics. I only know about him because i am an obsessive listener to a podcast called Tom Vs. The Flash I found this Podcast thru all the various nerdly comic podcast i listen too. He started out Vs. the JLA, and i got hooked. Short and funny, i could go on as to why you should listen to him, but you will have to catch the fever your self.

For this image, i decided to do some crazy arm motion, odd angles and what not. also, i had to envision what the Flash would look like, and um kind of reverse it. i sharpened the chin a bit to make him more menacing. Not sure, i am a bit taken with the flash “rogue gallery” as they are called, just because of some of the villains i have ever heard about, they seem to be the more flamboyant and crazy. I mean really, Mirror master? Captain boomerang? a reverse flash, who in fact is not the complete opposite, other than he is bad and has the colors switched around? not even an EVIL goatee and mustache! That is just standard bad guy flare!!! but all in all it was very enjoyable to work on this.

Questions, comments? Leave them for me to ignore!

Original Green lantern, Alan Scott!

The Green Lantern, Alan Scott

The Green Lantern, Alan Scott

Not sure where this came from, but i wanted to do a green lantern image. My first thought would have been Hal Jordan, but as i was looking i wanted to do something with a cape! enter The Green Lantern, Alan Scott! The original green lantern. Who in fact has nothing to do with the story of the current green lanterns, just in name i guess. you can correct me, because i did little to no research other than to find out what he looks like.

I like how unlike the other kind of monochromatic schemes the other characters seem to have, he has all kinds of colors. some of the versions i saw of him was almost techno colored. Let me know, correct me if you will. ask for more.

Images Updated!

The last few images i posted where taken with a camera, instead of a proper scan job. But now, they are in the fullest glory of the scanner. Also it has been told to me that it is hard to understand my words and sentence structure. Hell i know that. its pretty crazy being in my head when i am writing this. you can not even begin to guess how much i omit when i am typing. your MINDS WOULD BE BLOWN! But regardless, if anyone wants to be my copywriter or proof reader, let me know. i am always excepting applications.

Back to work fools!

Max and monster sketch

Max & Monster sketch

Max & Monster sketch

With the movie based on the book “where the wild things are, i decided to revisit some of my old children’s books. and low and behold i the book that started the revisit. then a friend turned me on to a site where people post images inspired by the book, Terrible yellow eyes. there were some rocking pieces on here, and some awesome everything else.

Anyway, got me thinking how i could do my own interpretation the story. right now its just kind of what i remember after one read threw, and a few inspirational images. But i am thinking of maybe making this a real medium piece, as in real paint. Not even markers! but i also may do it in digital. all depends on whats happening when i am ready to do it.

if you, my many readers, have any suggestions or stories of why you like this childhood favorite, let me know. comments and what not. Also as to why some of the images look taken with a camera, well that’s because they were. i am with out scanner for a while. when i get it back, i will re-post some of the crappier images so you may experience them in the fullest of glory!
